BRONX – On the morning of Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Yankees the office of the Commissioner of Baseball postponed the game well in advance due to projections of inclement conditions in the New York City and Bronx borough areas, Major League Baseball announced.
Game 4 of the ALCS, originally scheduled to be played at Yankee Stadium tonight at 8:08 p.m. EDT, will be played on Thursday night at 8:08 p.m. EDT. The National Weather Service was projecting a 100-percent chance of rain for Wednesday evening.
The postponement decision will move Game 5 to 7:08 p.m. EDT on Friday, with the clubs losing a travel day between New York and Houston if or when the series shifts to Texas. After the first three games of the best-of-seven series, the Astros lead the NYY, two games to one.
