NEW YORK – (Staff Report from Official News Release) – The National Basketball Players Association announced former Nike counsel Clarence A. Nesbitt was named its new General Counsel. Mr. Nesbitt, who is currently serving as General Counsel for THINK450, the licensing and marketing subsidiary of the NBA players, will transition into the role in the next few weeks.

Prior to his time with THINK450, Mr. Nesbitt spent nearly a decade working for Nike in a variety of roles relating to licensing, procurement and endorsement agreements while working on internal compliance issues. His career at Nike culminated in his selection as Assistant General Counsel & Director, Global Brand Business Affairs. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and spent several years specializing in mergers and acquisitions at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City before entering the sports industry. He earned both his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Business Administration degrees from Florida A&M University.
