BOSTON – It took three contests but the Boston Bruins finally defeated the lowly Detroit Red Wings this season behind a barrage of 41 shots on goal and a three-goal span in the middle period to record a 4-1 afternoon victory.
The Bruins packed-up quickly post game, before their evening flight to New York where they face the New York Rangers in a 3:30pm nationally televised NBC Sports game on Sunday.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period Wings goal by Darren Helm, the Bruins scored three times in 4:29 seconds in the second periods.
