BOSTON — (Wire Service Report) – Celtics forward Jae Crowder left Boston’s game against the Chicago Bulls in the second quarter Wednesday after sustaining an apparent left ankle injury. Crowder went to the floor just as teammate Isaiah Thomas was hitting 3-pointer to put Boston ahead 50-43.
Crowder remained on the floor, writhing in pain, as play went down to the other end of the court. After the whistle, Crowder got up and hopped on his right foot all the way into the corner and down the tunnel heading toward the locker room.
The Celtics, who got Marcus Smart back from an ankle sprain for the game, were already missing Al Horford (concussion) and Kelly Olynyk (shoulder).
Crowder had 10 points and five rebounds in 13 minutes when he went down.
