NEW YORK – (Staff Report from Official News Release) – As Veteran’s Day was celebrated in the United States this week, a group of vets launched a new platform to help authenticate personal brands and content on Twitter. Media and e-Signatures company, lettrs Inc. announced a new funding of $3M investment, with 50% coming from Veterans of the Armed Forces to fuel a new, patented e-Signatures service on Twitter called “Twignature.” The group also announced that Dr. Harvey W. Schiller, one of the most respected leaders in the sports, media and entertainment fields and an Air Force veteran himself, has joined the company as Chairman.
“We are very pleased to continue to refine and expand our cyber signatures technology with what we think is a simple and effective first of its kind application in ‘Twignature,’” said Drew Bartkiewicz, Founder and CEO of the parent company lettrs, Inc. “Having Dr. Schiller come on board as chairman sends a very powerful message to the media community and influencer ecosystem that our plan is solid, proven, cutting edge and ready to grow very quickly.”
“I joined the Twignature team because I believe that the field of authenticated and patented mobile signatures, as truly original marks in space and time, will create a whole new class of higher quality social media, communications and content than exists today,” Schiller added. “Twignature can become the Blockchain of digital signatures, for a class of content that makes digital memorabilia real, curated and valued by brands and fans alike.”
The patent allows mobile device users to use Twitter to both sign autographs and “draw” in their Tweets, authenticating the creation and transaction via a biometric method on their smart phone. A signed Tweet, or drawn Tweet, provides what Twitter seeks: a way to differentiate and personalize Tweets, beyond mere characters.
Twignature started with lettrs and was founded by West Point graduate Bartkiewicz in 2013. Bartkiewicz was named one of Goldman Sachs’ “Top 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs” in 2016, while that same year his property was also cited as a Forbes Top 25 Veteran founded business. His successful patent for a “cyber method” to authenticate mobile signatures, marrying biometrics and media on smartphones, has made him a force in the entrepreneurial arena. He is also expanding the Twignature offering to verify, authenticate and “notarize” e-signatures on social networks and emerging currency networks like Blockchain and Bitcoin.
The recently released Twignature app and it activates an entire social ecosystem for authenticated, distributed and sponsored autographs across the Twitter network. The Twignature communications app uses a phone’s biometric touch ID/authentication to activate a unique serial number and seal of signature authenticity on Twitter, including its original location, device, and even whether the original autograph was sponsored for charitable dollars.
Inaugural participants in the Twitter based “signatures-as-a-service” application Twignature will include a wide range of influencers in politics, media, entertainment and athletics, all of whom are testing the product as a new way to express their originality and associations with brands and causes. That initial list of participating users and sponsors will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
ESPN personality Karl Ravech summarized the social signatures technology in the light of social media trends, “This is a big advantage for people to authentically sign what they tweet, with the potential to make Twitter more human and more connected to the original intent of our expressions. I am so impressed to see a veteran company exhibit such innovation to invent a certified e-signature service for the growing Twitter world.”
Similar to Docusign, but for social and mobile communications, the patented Twignature enables verified, mobile e-signatures on Twitter that authenticate and enable signatures with associated media and brand sponsors. The authenticated signature technology originally marks social communications and media that creates higher value the more these signatures are shared, distributed and viewed. The method for biometric verification is married to smart seals of authenticity, for easy brand integrations as an emerging class of digital memorabilia. The Twignature signing method and smart seal system marginalize fake signatures and “troll” accounts.
