NEW YORK – (Staff Report from Official News Release) – Popular online sports media venture The Players Tribune announced the launch of its podcast network, in partnership with DGital Media. The network will feature athlete-hosted podcasts, a flagship show and other series related to content on the site.
The network debuts on January 26 with Giant Steps, an oral history podcast event that chronicles the rise of the New York Giants Super Bowl championship in 1986. The Players’ Tribune will present the story of the team’s journey to the championship — as told by members of the team themselves. The 60-minute episode, narrated by Michael Strahan, features first-person accounts from Carl Banks, Harry Carson, Pepper Johnson, Leonard Marshall, George Martin, Elvis Patterson, Lawrence Taylor and Bill Parcells.
