(In the world of over-used phraseology, the word "Transparency" is a buzz-w for politicians and CEOs looking to protect their asses. Well, we at BIOR will hop on the Transparency Bus and will leave ur ill-fated Prekness Post up for all to see... At least, until the day before The Belmont Stakes.)

The PREAKNESS - The boys and girls at "Blame it on Reno" are here with some premonitions, predictions and some real sports perception to help steer you to the promised land of horse racing and gaming.
It's always an adventure when trying to predict The Preakness Stakes, a race held two weeks after the Kentucky Derby. Many a horse does not bounce back in a tight two-week turnaround and thus the challenge of the Triple Crown.
That said, the horse racing world does it every year. They test the three-year old crop with a pair of races that capture America for the spring. Orb is the only horse with a chance to get the Triple and Shug's horse can get it done but - if so - it will be at a low price.
So the challenge is to find the horse that can be in a position to beat Orb.
Today - there are only two that can accomplish that feat.
So, the contenders are:
PP 1 is Orb - Need not say more.
PP 5 is Mylute - the horse that was amongst the faves but has dropped to a 10-1 value
PP 9 is Itsmyluckyday - just tanked in the Derby and that is enough to get my attention for the proverbial bounce back run at Pimlico
The money horses are:
PP 4 is Departing - a one-time loser who could easily finish in the 1-2-3 money, money, money. No reason to think this horse can't get it done if Orb falters in the slightest way and that is a factor to consider, of course. If Orb drops back too far, like he did at Churchill, he might not get the trip of a lifetime and could get parked behind the Departeds, Mylutes.
PP 8 is Governor Charlie - who is not getting much attention - except in the Lyons camp. This is a horse who can be in the money...maybe 4th.
That means - GoldenCents - a fave for a whole load of people heading into the KD is on the outside looking in on my Exacta Table, but is worth a shot if you are trying for some Powerball-like trifectas.
So? The Play? I'm putting the #1 and the #5 on my ticket tops and tossing in just one 5-1 exacta, along with a ton of tri and even a few superfecta combos with a 5-1, 4,5, 8,9 and 4, 5, 8 and 9.
In a nine horse field, that's a lot of dart-tossing, I'll admit.
Up-tops: 5-1 along w/8,9,4,3 and a 2 tossed in.
1. Orb Rosario Even
2. Goldencents Krigger 8-1
3. Titletown Five Leparoux 30-1
4. Departing Hernandez 6-1
5. Mylute Napravnik 5-1
6. Oxbow Stevens 15-1
7. Will Take Charge Smith 12-1
8. Govenor Charlie Garcia 12-1
9. Itsmyluckyday Velazquez 10-1
