NEW YORK, MAY 15, 2012 -- (From wire reports) -- Suns point guard Steve Nash and Celtics head coach Doc Rivers were honored Monday by the Professional Basketball Writers Association for their cooperation with media and fans. Nash received the Magic Johnson Award, while Rivers won the Rudy Tomjonavich Award. Last year's winners were Kevin Durant of the Thunder and Jerry Sloan of the Jazz, respectively.

The event, held in cooperation with USA Wrestling and the NYC Department of Education, will be held in Duffy Square in New York’s Times Square on Thursday, June 7. The United States freestyle team will face one of the top wrestling nations in the world as the featured competition for the 2012 Beat the Streets gala and benefit to be held following the dual meet.
