DESTINATION UNKNOWN – (Staff Report from Official News Release) – Iron Man, be damned. Spartan Races? Humbug. Tough Mudder? Tough luck. Last staged in Fiji in 2002, the Eco-Challenge is being reorganized and will be staged again in 2019. Eco-Challenge 2019 is a testament to the human spirit. It requires much for more than just courage and survival skills, it requires teamwork. Endurance is important, but being able to support others is crucial.
Using state of the art cinematography, Eco-Challenge 2019 will test the limits of human physical and mental endurance in the most rugged natural landscapes on earth. Each team, comprised of both men and women, compete in grueling challenges over a 350+ mile race course.
Past Eco-Challenge disciplines have included whitewater rafting, canoeing, mountaineering, horseback riding, scuba diving, and mountain biking – those for the Eco-Challenge 2019 event will be revealed to the selected teams later this year. To finish requires teamwork, courage, skill, and commitment; to win demands the extraordinary.
Award Winning reality producer Mark Burnett will team-up with Britain’s Bear Grylls on the production side. Competitors are being vetted but in this competition, only the most disciplined can survive, as each and every competitor and team are under strict rules to carry out all trash, including solid human waste. If any team member quits the entire team is disqualified.
